StoryRONALDO TO CONTINUE DESPITE MBAPPE RECORD DEAL

Real Madrid are reportedly considering a deal that might see Monaco star KylianMbappeland at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

The record deal would likely be in excess of £150 million, shattering into pieces any transfer record for a footballer.

In recent times, Los Blancoshave broken the record to land Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United and Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur. The protracted deal for Mbappe has long been in the pipeline and it could be the biggest deal this summer if Madrid pull it off.

Ronaldo has been linked with a return to Manchester United and Paris St Germain despite being a crucial player in the Zinedine Zidane set-up. Jose Mourinho has since dispelled the rumours, adding that it was futile thinking as Ronaldo was “such an important player for his club.”

Even the player himself recently said: “Winning important trophies with my club last year was great, just like the individual trophies, and to do it again would be great.”

Zidane would need to continue with the rotation policy that favours Ronaldo so the Portuguese can contribute on the big occasions like he’s done since reaching 30 years. He would also likely move to a more central role as his abilities best fit. If Mbappe joins, he would feature as a centre forward, working together with Ronaldo. The Euro 2016 winner would serve as a mentor as Mbappe would be prepared as the long term replacement.

KarimBenzema would likely continue at the club as he has for almost a decade. Through different manager and different strike partners, the Frenchman has survived despite the high turnover. He has been versatile of recent and being a Zidane favourite, he would surely get space in the team. But can Madrid pull this off this summer?
