Cristiano Ronaldo is closing in on the record of both England international Harry Kane and ex-Manchester City striker Sergio Agueroon the list of the players with the most PFA Player of the Month award after he was named the recipient of the PFA Player of the Month award for April 2022. The Manchester United superstar bagged the award after a return of five goals in three matches last month.

Portuguese national team skipper Ronaldo won the aforementioned award ahead of seven other nominees namely Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City), Nathan Collins (Burnley), Son Heung-Min (Tottenham Hotspur), Newcastle United midfielder BrunoGuimares, Liverpool star Thiago Alcantara, Leandro Trossard (Brighton and Hove Albion) and Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City).

Cristiano Ronaldo started last month by failing to score in the 1-0 defeat at the hands of Merseyside giants Everton before scoring three goals during the home win over Norwich City who are at the bottom of the Premier League table. He scored twice in the first half to give Manchester United a 2-0 lead before Englishman Kieran Dowell pulled one back on the stroke of half-time before Finland international TeemuPukki scored the equaliser for the Canaries at the start of the second half. Ronaldo scored the winning goal in the final quarter of the game to secure the three points for his team.
Five-time Ballond'or recipient Cristiano Ronaldo made it 100 Premier League goals with his strike during the 3-1 defeat at the hands of Arsenal for his Manchester United team. He pulled one back for the Red Devils in the first half after Nuno Tavares and Bukayo Saka had given the Gunners a 2-0 lead. Arsenal sealed the win with a Granit Xhaka thunderbolt in the second half.
Ronaldo made it five goals in three Premier League games with the Manchester United goal in the 1-1 draw at home to Chelsea.
After his latest win, Cristiano Ronaldo has six PFA Player of the Month awards. Aguero and Kane have seven PFA Player of the Month awards each.
